Shared Wisdom Communities: Pre-K-2, 3-5, 6-8,
High School

September 2020-May 2021 | Online
Available exclusively to ICLE Member Schools

During the COVID-19 pandemic, at the request of school leaders, we began offering “Grade-Level Teacher Forums” to allow for conversation between educators at or near each other’s grade-level regarding the challenges and best practices that are unique to the ages of the students they serve. The initiative proved incredibly fruitful for those who participated. One teacher even described them as “the best professional development I’ve ever had.” With that in mind, we launched the Shared Wisdom Communities (formerly known as the Professional Learning Communities) program in the fall of 2020. It is offered exclusively to ICLE premier member schools. This membership feature allows an entire faculty to participate in any of the four grade-level bands: Pre-K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and High School. Each band meets monthly and is led by a dedicated veteran teacher with significant experience in Catholic liberal education at that grade level. Registered schools also have exclusive access to recordings of the monthly meetings for those who may have conflicts from time to time. This program provides a unique opportunity for teachers to compare notes, open dialogue, and develop working friendships with like-minded educators at other schools committed to the Church’s vision for education.

Format: Each grade-level band meets monthly, beginning in September and ending in May. Meetings are one hour and timing may vary to meet the needs of participants in multiple time zones. Recordings of all sessions will be available on-demand for all registered schools.
