The Catholic Educator Formation and Credential program, which was originally launched as a joint venture with the Archdiocese of Denver Office of Catholic Schools and included 28 teachers from Denver Catholic Schools, continues to expand at the diocesan level with the new launch of a CEFC program for the state of Oklahoma. The program will serve educators in both the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and the Diocese of Tulsa. Its first cohort will begin July 24, 2023 and will include up to 40 Catholic educators.

“Here in Oklahoma, we are thrilled to bring this opportunity to our teachers,” said David Dean, Superintendent for Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma. “This Christ-centered program will give them the chance to explore why they went into teaching at a Catholic school in the first place.”

Lara Schuler, Director of Catholic Education for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, agrees: “Not only will our teachers focus on building virtuous classrooms, doubling down on pedagogical skills, and choosing and integrating subject materials, but above all, it will be a chance to increase their own knowledge of how to integrate faith into everything that happens in their classrooms.”
