The momentum of the Catholic liberal arts movement reached a new peak from January 15–17, 2026, in St. Paul, MN, as Saint Agnes School – one of our Premier Member Schools – hosted the second annual Consortium for the Renewal of Catholic Education. As companions on this journey, we are proud to see Saint Agnes serve as a regional beacon, showing how the Catholic intellectual tradition transforms modern classrooms.

The gathering of 300 educators from 28 schools and five dioceses was more than a conference; it was a living witness to the Catholic intellectual tradition. The event even drew a dozen homeschool parents, a testimony that the desire for renewal spans the entire educational landscape. Under the leadership of Michael J. Adkins, Ed.D., Director of Academics at Saint Agnes, the event showcased how our shared commitment to formation for full human flourishing manifests in student joy and academic rigor.

The experience began with an immersive visit day, where over 30 educators stepped into Saint Agnes classrooms to witness integrated Catholic liberal arts education in action. From the beauty of the Liturgy to the inaugural St. John Henry Newman Exhibit, the program reflected the high standards of excellence desired for every Catholic school.

The Consortium featured more than a dozen breakout options across three sessions that aligned with renewing Catholic education in our Church’s tradition and the following two impactful keynote addresses:

  • Jeremy Wayne Tate (Classic Learning Test) called for a return to the greatest tradition, reminding us that education is the maturation of the soul.
  • John M. DeJak, J.D. (USCCB) offered a vision of renewal that transforms how students see the world.

ICLE President Dr. Ryan Messmore noted that the leadership of Saint Agnes represents a pivotal moment for our movement. Supporting the momentum of renewal is vital, Dr. Messmore stated, noting that our mission is profoundly enhanced when we gather to share prayer and wisdom.

By hosting a mission-focused job fair and drawing 20 dedicated sponsors, Saint Agnes demonstrated the practical vitality of the renewal. We are honored to walk alongside Saint Agnes School as they lead by example, proving that when we reclaim our heritage, we offer students a path to true human flourishing.
