Divine Mercy Teaching Position Description


Divine Mercy Academy is an independent private day school in the Catholic tradition for children in K through Eighth Grade. Catholicism is central to our mission.  Divine Mercy Academy is looking for energetic and passionate tutors who are serious about their Catholic Faith and want to help form the next generation of saint-leaders for the Church!


We are a young, but rapidly growing private, classical school in the Catholic tradition located in Pasadena, MD.  Our student enrollment in our second year of existence has rapidly passed 40 and our faculty team is 10 strong!  Our daily schedule includes the mass, and praying the rosary, Angelus, and Divine Mercy Chaplet as a school.

Guided by the wisdom of our Patron, Pope Saint John Paul II, Our Mission is to partner with parents in their roles as the primary educators of their children, so as to foster a love for truth, beauty, goodness, and learning by providing students with a foundation of wisdom and virtue, so that they may bear witness to the kingdom of God.  We desire to form disciples of Jesus Christ, who are made free to realize their full potential by living joyfully in accordance with the truth revealed by God through nature and the Catholic Church.  We do this by providing a challenging and integrated Catholic liberal arts education.


The ideal candidate should:

-Be a practicing and joyful Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church

-Be knowledgeable about a classical curriculum and a liberal arts education

-Have experience as an educator, ideally in a Catholic school setting

-Be collegial and collaborative.  Be able to identify and work towards a common goal

-Have strong leadership abilities and excellent people management skills

-Possess superior written and oral communication skills

-Have experience with Montessori Method and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

-Be familiar with Saint Jerome’s Educational Plan and Singapore Math

-Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

-Teaching certification strongly preferred (MSDE certification)
