High School Geometry/Mathematics Teacher – St. Mary’s Catholic High School – Phoenix, AZ
Under the supervision of the Principal and Assistant Principal of Academics, the Geometry/Mathematics teacher is a person of faith who strives to achieve the goals of Catholic education; has a multi-level course mathematics knowledge and teaching background, including geometry and advanced algebra; has a deep understanding of Mathematics, and also understands how Mathematics belongs within the context of a Liberal Arts education in order to form students who will appreciate and can articulate the manner in which Mathematics reveals the beauty and order of creation; assumes responsibility for the leadership and management of the assigned classes; implements the instructional program according to the established Saint Mary’s and Diocesan Curriculum Standards; maintains detailed and accurate records as required by the school; establishes positive school-community relationships; continues professional development to remain current with religious and academic certifications; performs any other job-related tasks deemed necessary and/or assigned by the Principal.
Teachers teach five class periods with two periods of prep each day.
Applicants must have, be in process of achieving, or be willing to complete the following qualifications: hold a BA degree, be willing to make a public Profession of Faith, be certified by the Arizona State Department of Education as a teacher, complete FBI fingerprint clearance, receive diocesan Safe Environment Training and sign the Code of Conduct, meet Ministry Formation Certification and/or re-certification per diocesan policy.
