Angelus Academy, an independent Catholic liberal arts school that serves students in preschool through eighth grade, is currently accepting applications for a fifth-grade teaching position for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. We are located in Northern Virginia, approximately 16 miles from Washington, DC and in the vibrant Diocese of Arlington.
Angelus Academy is a small, faith-filled community of caring educators and supportive parents who are committed to forming the next generation of Catholic faithful. Our small class sizes, unique Salvation History-based curriculum, and dedication to teaching in the classical tradition foster a love of learning, the mastery of skills, and most importantly, a sense of God’s love and His plans for each student. Our school year is enriched by many special events and traditions, daily prayer, weekly Mass, and monthly Adoration in our school’s chapel.
Applicants should have a Bachelor of Arts or a Master’s degree in English, history, liberal arts, elementary education, or the equivalent. We welcome novice teachers who share a love of learning and a desire to continue growing professionally and spiritually. An interest in teaching American history and, in particular, the influence of Catholic missionaries (the focus of our fifth-grade curriculum), is preferred. Applicants must be practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church (e.g., able to receive the Sacraments) and be loyal to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
Please send a cover letter and resume to Mrs. Vivian Zini, Principal, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
