John Paul the Great Academy seeks a full-time upper school Latin/Humanities instructor for the 2019-2020 academic year, able to teach multiple levels of Latin and a combination of other courses: theology, literature, or history. Currently, beginning classes use Ørberg’s Lingua Latina text, and upper level courses read original authors in rotation. All courses include deductive and inductive approaches with an emphasis on speech and grammar.


A qualified applicant will have earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree, demonstrate knowledge of classical pedagogy or willingness to learn, display a commitment to life-long learning and integration of knowledge across disciplines, exhibit flexibility and willingness to serve in extra-curricular responsibilities, and be motivated to teach in a highly collaborative environment. The candidate must be a practicing Catholic, willing to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium, and whose life of faith serves as a virtuous and vibrant example to our students and families.
