JOB DESCRIPTION

St. Joseph Academy is an independent, classical, Catholic TK-12 school that teaches in accordance with the Magisterium. We are seeking a high school history and art history teacher. The ideal candidate is flexible and interested in teaching other disciplines in the middle and high school levels. Candidates must be loyal, practicing Catholics who are motivated, organized and possess a deep love for God, others and a passion for communicating that love. A genuine affection and deep knowledge of Catholic history, art and religion, as well as a love and talent for teaching rounds out the ideal candidate. Training and support is provided. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.

St. Joseph Academy is recognized by the Cardinal Newman Society as a School of Excellence and is currently one of three schools in the nation to be a Cardinal Newman Society Ambassador School. We are a member of NAPCIS (The National Association of Private Catholic and Independent Schools) and ICLE (Institution for Catholic Liberal Education). Our current enrollment is 286 students (54 are high school students). We are located in beautiful San Diego County, just 15 minutes from the ocean.
