Elementary School Teacher – St. Mary’s Catholic School – Taylor, Texas

JOB DESCRIPTION
St. Mary’s Catholic School, located in Taylor, Texas (just 35 minutes northeast of Austin in beautiful central Texas), serves students in grades PK3 – 8. Returning to our classical roots, St. Mary’s is seeking applicants for full time elementary school teaching positions for the 2018-2019 school year. For over 120 years, we have been serving our regional area (some traveling as far as an hour away) in the richness of the Catholic and Dominican tradition. We are seeking to offer an academically rigorous curriculum from the classical tradition, and strive to provide an affordable education for all who desire to attend.

The lead homeroom teacher will be responsible for planning and teaching all core subject areas (language arts, mathematics, history, science, and religion) to their assigned grade levels.

An ideal candidate will be:
-a faithful, practicing Catholic, willing to make a formal Profession of Faith and take an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church.
-An experienced teacher having at least 2 years of classroom teaching or tutoring experience (certification preferred, but optional).
-An individual who is organized, prompt, and adapts easily to changes in the classroom.
-An educator who loves learning, strives to help each student grasp the concepts taught, and manages the classroom with a firm but loving manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

The teacher must be a practicing Catholic and willing to make a formal Profession of Faith and take an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church.

An experienced teacher having at least 2 years of classroom in a PK3 – 8th Classical Education environment.

Bachelor’s Degree. Teaching certification preferred but not mandatory.
